爆風スランプが1985年11月1日、CBS/SONYから発売した2枚目のオリジナル・アルバム『しあわせ』に収録されている楽曲。発売から4年後1989年10月21日にアレンジを変えた「大きな玉ねぎの下で 〜はるかなる想い」としてシングルカット。「大きな玉ねぎ」とは、日本武道館（東京都千代田区）の屋根の上に乗っている擬宝珠である。その擬宝珠が「大きな玉ねぎ」に見えるというところからタイトルが付けられた。(フリー百科事典 ウィキペディア日本語版より：https://x.gd/Un7QU)

A song included in Bakufu Slump’s second original album ”Shiawase” released by CBS/SONY on November 1, 1985. Four years after its release, on October 21, 1989, it was released as a single cut as “Under the Big Onion – Haruka Naru Omoi” with a different arrangement. ”TheBig Onion” is a fake jewel that sits on the roof of the Nippon Budokan (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo).
