1963年（昭和38年）にリリースされた歌謡曲。作曲者・中村の第一子生誕をヒントに永が作詞した作品である。本来はそのエピソードから永がパパの心情を歌詞にして、中村にプレゼントした曲であった。永は自身のコンサートや、後年テレビ朝日の『題名のない音楽会』に出演した際などに、「パパの心情版」のこの曲を歌っている。2006年（平成18年）に文化庁と日本PTA全国協議会が「日本の歌百選」に選定した。(フリー百科事典 ウィキペディア日本語版より：https://x.gd/WzdXn)

A popular song released in 1963 (Showa 38). Ei wrote the lyrics, inspired by the birth of composer Nakamura’s first child. Originally, Ei wrote the lyrics about his father’s feelings from that episode and gave it to Nakamura as a present. Ei sang the ”Papa’s Heart Version” of this song at his own concerts and later when he appeared on TV Asahi’s ”Untitled Concert.” In 2006, the Agency for Cultural Affairs and the Japan PTA National Council selected it as one of the “Top 100 Japanese Songs”.
